Anklets or Anklet bracelets have been commonly known among Indian woman for many decades. An anklet is an accessory for woman typically worn as a styling ornament around the ankle. However, many people in East India think that anklets and bracelets can be worn interchangeably and worn on arms. Anklets are mainly worn by younger females and also some older women. This is a highly fashionable ornament and is made from various valuable materials such as gold, silver, and many other less expensive metals. They are also available in leather, beads, and plastic. Usually the size of the anklet is slightly larger than the bracelet. Most people wear the anklets on the right ankle.
The metal anklets can be divided into two – flexible anklets and inflexible anklets. In India the flexible anklets are usually known by the names “jhanjhar” or “pajeb” and are created by binding links in a chain. On the other hand the inflexible anklets are designed by shaping a flat metal sheet.
